Terra Echo Studios LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Fissure desktop application ("Software"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the Software accesses, what information we collect through our website and store, how we use it, and your rights with respect to that information.

The short version: Fissure processes your audio entirely on your computer. Your audio files never leave your device. We collect very little information and we do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

1. Who This Policy Applies To

Users who download and use the Fissure desktop application;

Customers who purchase Fissure through our Gumroad storefront.

2. Information the Fissure Application Accesses

Audio Files

Fissure reads audio files that you explicitly select and open within the application. These files are processed entirely on your local machine and are never uploaded to, transmitted to, or accessed by any server operated by us or any third party. The application writes the resulting stem files to the folder on your local machine that you specify.

We have no access to your audio files or the stems produced from them at any time.

Local Application Data

The application stores the following data locally on your machine only:

Application preferences and settings — your output folder preference and separation mode selection, stored in your macOS user data directory. This data never leaves your device.
Job history — a local log of your recent separation jobs (file names, output locations, timestamps), stored locally for your convenience. This data never leaves your device.

AI Models — Bundled, No Download Required

All AI model files required by the Software are included directly inside the application bundle distributed in the installer. Fissure does not make any network requests to download models or any other data during normal use. The application is fully self-contained and operates entirely offline after installation.

No connection to Hugging Face or any other third-party service is made during the installation or operation of the Software.

No Telemetry, Analytics, or Crash Reporting

The Software does not collect or transmit:

Usage analytics or telemetry of any kind
Crash reports or error logs
Performance metrics
Information about files you process
Any behavioral or usage data

We simply do not know how you use the application, and we designed it that way intentionally.

3. Information We Collect Through Our Website

When you visit https://terraechostudio.com, standard web server logs may record:

Your IP address
Browser type and version
Pages visited and time of visit
Referring URL

This information is used solely for maintaining the security and operation of our website and is not linked to any personal identity. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes.

4. Information Collected Through Gumroad (Purchases)

Fissure is sold through Gumroad, Inc. ("Gumroad"), a third-party e-commerce platform. When you purchase Fissure:

Gumroad collects and processes your payment information (credit card, PayPal, etc.), email address, and any other information required to complete the transaction.
We receive from Gumroad only your email address and purchase confirmation, which we use to fulfill your order and provide customer support.
We do not receive or store your payment card information at any time. Gumroad acts as the merchant of record and handles all payment processing.

Your purchase data is subject to Gumroad's Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review it.

What We Do With Your Email Address (From Gumroad)

If Gumroad provides us with your email address as part of the purchase process, we may use it to:

Send you your license confirmation and download link;
Notify you of major Software updates (infrequently, and only if you have not opted out);

We do not add your email address to any marketing list without your explicit consent, and we do not share it with third parties.

We use the limited information we collect to:

Purchase records — We retain purchase confirmation records (your email and transaction ID from Gumroad) for as long as necessary to fulfill our legal and accounting obligations, typically up to seven (7) years.
Support communications — If you contact us for support, we retain that correspondence for up to two (2) years.
Local application data — This lives on your machine. You can delete it at any time by removing the application and its associated data from your system.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the limited personal information we hold:

Customer email addresses from Gumroad are stored in secure systems with access limited to authorized personnel only.
We do not store payment card information.
All data transmitted between you and our website uses HTTPS encryption.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we are committed to protecting your information using industry-standard practices.

Terra Echo Studios LLC is based in the State of North Carolina, United States. Request deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal retention obligations;

12. Do Not Track

Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" feature. Because Fissure is a desktop application with no in-app tracking, the Do Not Track signal is not applicable to the Software. Our website does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals, as there is no industry-wide standard for how they should be honored.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes that affect how we handle your personal information, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you (for example, by posting a notice on our website or sending an email to customers).
